What is Ayurveda? And what does an Ayurvedic Consultation look like?
Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning "Life Knowledge." Ayurveda teaches us that we live our best lives and feel our best by observing the cycles and rhythms of nature. Mother Nature is a wise teacher and she lets us know when we're not living in balance - we start to feel like crud! (Chronic fatigue, heartburn and indigestion, irritability, or belly bloat anyone?)
Ayurveda is a holistic and nature-inspired approach to establishing balance and feeling great - body, mind and spirit. For those of us who are interested in making natural, practical shifts for our own wellness, Ayurveda looks at long-term picture and offers simple solutions that are do-able to empower us in our own journey for optimal health.
In an Ayurvedic consultation we will meet and I'll get to know you a little better. We'll talk about your day to day habits. Our conversation will include things like what you eat, how you sleep, and what your normal day looks like. Then you get to share your current complaints. How do you feel off? Maybe it's pesky allergies, chronic fatigue, a few extra pounds, or a general feeling of funk. I will follow up with natural, practical recommendations for nutrition and lifestyle changes to help bring you back to the perfect balance that is healthy, vibrant you.
